Computer & Internet Use
The Library offers 17 public computers in the adult library with access to the Internet and Microsoft Office 2007. The Children’s Room has an additional 5 computers for use by children and their caregivers. You will need your library card number to use a computer. All users with a library card can reserve a computer for the same day at the library (no reservations can be made over the phone or online) or may use a computer on a first come, first served basis. In the adult library, each user is allowed a maximum of 6 hours per day (the first hour is uninterrupted, with additional time allotted in 30 minute increments depending on availability). In the children’s library, users are allowed a maximum of one hour per day (30 minutes uninterrupted with the option of an additional 30 minutes depending upon availability). One hour guest passes are available for out-of-town visitors. In addition, there is one express 15-minute computer for Internet access only.
The Adult library offers three computers dedicated to the NOBLE catalog; the Children’s Room provides one.
The adult library provides three non-internet workstations for patrons who need extra time working on papers, resumes, or other non-internet related work. Two of these computers are connected to the library’s networked printers. One is in the Quiet Study room, and has its own small printer. This computer/printer station can be used by patrons who need to use their own paper for resumes or other projects.
Wireless Internet Access is available throughout the building for patrons with laptops.
All library computers are connected to a printer. Black and white printing is 15 cents per page and all color printing is 25 cents per page. A separate computer and printer, not connected to the Internet, is available in the Adult Library for printing on special paper, labels, or envelopes. This is the only printer that can be used with non-library paper.
