The Melrose Public Library and the Melrose Recycling Committee will present a free screening of the documentary film, A Plastic Ocean (2016, Not Rated).  The film is directed by Craig Leeson, Australian journalist, filmmaker, activist and adventurer.  What began as a project about finding the elusive blue whale, delves into an examination of plastic pollution in the world’s oceans. Craig and an international team of scientists and researchers travel to multiple locations and shed light on the levels of plastic pollution and the impacts felt worldwide.

The film will start promptly at 6:30 PM and be followed by a brief question and answer portion lead by the Melrose Recycling Committee.

Starting Saturday, April 6 at 10 AM sign up online or with a Library Staff Member to ensure a seat (781-665-2313).

This program is generously supported by the Friends of the Melrose Public Library.
