Place holds in the library catalog right now to take advantage of this service! Materials coming from other libraries will take longer than usual to arrive and be processed.
Once you are notified that your holds are ready, they will be held for you for seven days. Call the library at 781-665-2313 by 4:30pm with your library card number handy on the day you will stop by to pick-up.
Please be sure to call by 4:30pm on the day you wish to pick-up so we may have time to accommodate your check out. The Front Door Pickup Service runs between 10:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Saturday and 2:00-5:00pm on Sundays.
We are accepting all returns in the library’s outdoor book drop. Please be aware that check in of your material will be at least seven days after the return (fines will not be assessed during this time).

Melrose residents who do not currently have a library card, but would like access to our online resources, please call (781-665-2313) or email (email@example.com) with all of the following information:
– Full name
– Street address
– Telephone number
– Email address
– Birth date
You will receive a temporary library card number and PIN via email, which will allow you to access our online services that require a card. This card will expire in three months. Upon re-opening, we will revert to our normal procedures. Temporary card holders will be able to come to the library with their photo ID and proof of address to convert their temporary cards to permanent cards.
