The library is partnering with Melrose Organizes For Real Equality (MORE) for a community read!  We have chosen two books about race relations in America from the perspective of two men: one black, one white, and will meet to talk about the books in a guided discussion. Those wishing to attend the discussion are urged to read both titles:

  • Between The World and Me, by Ta-Nehesi- Coates is written in a series of essays as a letter to his son in which Coates examines the notion of race in America and how it has shaped American history, many times at the cost of black bodies and lives.
  • White Like Me by Tim Wise is a memoir in which the author explores the ways that racial privilege shapes the lives of many white people, whether they realize it or not.
Books are available in the Main Lobby of the library!
