Library Policy on Unattended Children
It is the policy of the Trustees of Melrose Public Library that a responsible adult must attend young children at all times in the library. The library staff loves children but cannot be responsible for providing the level of security, safety and supervision that is necessary to protect them. Your cooperation and understanding are expected.

Library Cards
Children ages 4 and older may register for a library card. All that is needed is a parent's signature and verification of address.

 
Computers
The Children's Room has six Internet computers for children. These computers are filtered, providing a degree of protection for children using the Internet, but parents should be aware that the library is not responsible for those sites that are unprotected by this filter. Parents are encouraged to use the Internet with their children.

The Children's Room also has two computers with games for preschoolers.

Printing
There is 10 cents per page printing fee in the Children's Room.
